Eric Weinberger Wife: Hilary Bidwell, the wife of former Scrubs producer Eric Weinberger, has finally spoken out about his arrest and bail in a sexual assault case that involves multiple women. Weinberger, who also worked on shows like Californication and Anger Management, was charged with 18 felony counts of sexual assault, including rape, oral copulation, and false imprisonment, by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.

He was arrested twice, once in July and again in October, and posted a $5 million bail each time. He pleaded not guilty to all charges on Tuesday and was remanded to custody after his bail was revoked by a judge.

A Shocking Revelation

Bidwell, who married Weinberger in 2010 and has two children with him, said she was shocked and devastated by the allegations against her husband. She said she had no idea that he was leading a double life and abusing young women under the pretext of photo shoots. She said she only learned about his crimes when he was first arrested in July and she saw his mugshot on the news.

“I was completely blindsided by this. I had no clue that he was doing these horrible things to these women. He never showed any signs of being a predator or a monster. He was always loving and supportive to me and our kids. He seemed like a normal, decent person,” she said in an exclusive interview with People magazine.

Bidwell said she confronted Weinberger about the charges and he denied everything. He told her that he was innocent and that he was being framed by some disgruntled former employees or associates. He begged her to believe him and to stand by him. He also assured her that he would clear his name and prove his innocence in court.

A Difficult Decision

Bidwell said she initially wanted to believe her husband and give him the benefit of the doubt. She said she loved him and trusted him and hoped that he was telling the truth. She also said she was concerned about the impact of the scandal on their children, who are 10 and 8 years old. She said she tried to shield them from the media attention and explain to them that their father was going through a difficult time.

However, as more details emerged about Weinberger’s alleged crimes, Bidwell said she started to doubt his claims of innocence. She said she read the court documents and the victim statements and realized that there was overwhelming evidence against him. She also learned that he had been accused of similar offenses in the past, dating back to the 1990s. She said she felt betrayed and disgusted by his actions and decided to end their marriage.

“I couldn’t live with myself if I stayed with him. I couldn’t look at him or touch him or sleep with him knowing what he had done to those women. I couldn’t respect myself or my kids if I supported him. I had to make a choice between him and my conscience, and I chose my conscience,” she said.

Bidwell said she filed for divorce in August and moved out of their Los Angeles home with their children. She said she has cut off all contact with Weinberger and wants nothing to do with him. She also said she supports the victims and hopes that they get justice.

A Hope for Healing

Bidwell said she is trying to move on with her life and focus on her children’s well-being. She said she is seeing a therapist and attending a support group for spouses of sex offenders. She said she is also working on rebuilding her career as a journalist and author. She said she has written a memoir about her experience as a survivor of domestic violence in her previous marriage, which she hopes to publish soon.

“I’m not going to let this destroy me or my kids. I’m not going to let him win. I’m going to heal from this trauma and find happiness again. I’m going to use my voice and my story to help other women who are going through similar situations. I’m going to turn this pain into power,” she said.
