Camel Murders Two People In Tennessee: Officials say a stray camel assaulted and killed two persons on a Tennessee farm on Thursday. Follow chopnews to know more.
According to the Obion County Sheriff’s Office, the camel assaulted Bobby Matheny, 42, and Tommy Gunn, 67, at Shirley Farms in Obion, roughly 100 miles northeast of Memphis.
According to the announcement, deputies responded to a complaint about the camel around 4:45 p.m. and discovered Matheny and Gunn unconscious on the ground with the camel still on the free.
Officials added that multiple agencies were on the site to provide assistance and take the wounded to safety.
Camel Kills Two People
The camel resurfaced, “attacked” a sheriff’s office vehicle, and proceeded toward the deputies as deputies attempted to take one of the patients into an ambulance, according to the release.
Officers had to put the camel down at this point for the safety of everyone on the site, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials claimed Matheny, of Ridgely, Tennessee, and Gunn, of Obion, died as a result of their injuries and were pronounced dead at the site.
It’s unclear where the camel came from at first. According to its Facebook page, Pumpkin Barn LLC, which is part of Shirley Farms, features a petting zoo.
