Avneet Kaur recently disclosed in an Instagram post that she had auditioned and attended workshops for two films by Aamir Khan – Dangal and Secret Superstar – but unfortunately wasn’t selected for final roles in either movie despite her efforts. However, Aamir appreciated her auditions and mentioned that deciding whether Secret Superstar hit or flop did not diminish the value of her talent.

Avneet met Aamir at a screening of Kiran Rao’s co-produced film ‘Laapataa Ladies’, where Aamir made his first co-produced appearance as producer and Kiran was director.
Avneet did not specify which role in Dangal she auditioned for as Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar both play young Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat respectively in that film.
At age 8, Avneet made her debut in Hindi entertainment by participating in Dance India Dance Li’l Masters – an interactive reality dance show which she auditioned for Zaira Wasim’s role.
Avneet made her acting debut in 2012 in a TV show entitled ‘Meri Maa’ and rose to prominence through her breakthrough role in 2023 film Tiku Weds Sheru. Since then she has appeared in other shows like ‘Ek Mutthi Aasmaan’, ‘Savitri – Ek Prem Kahani’ and ‘Chandra Nandini”.
