We regret to inform you that Bryan William Marchment, commonly known as Bryan Marchment, a renowned former NHL defender, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 6, 2022, at the age of 53.
The veteran agent Rick Curran informed the Associated Press that he had passed away. Bryan Marchment was in Montreal for the NHL draft acting as a scout for the San Jose Sharks.

According to the Sharks’ statement, Bryan was the fiercest player because he was so committed to hockey, so physically fit and quick, and had unmatched reflexes.
His entire life, he was a hockey fanatic. From 1989 to 2006, Bryan Marchment competed in the NHL, spending time with the Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, Chicago Blackhawks, Tampa Bay Lightning, Hartford Whalers, Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks, Calgary Flames, and Toronto Maple Leafs.
He also played for the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2003 to 2006. The sources state that the Toronto native had been working with the Sharks and their American Hockey League clubs since 2007 in scouting and other capacities. According to this, the league suspended Bryan 12–13 times throughout his first 12 NHL seasons.
On May 1, 1969, Bryan Marchment was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. After finishing his playing career, he worked with the Sharks organization as a scout and a part-time coach.
If we discuss his early career, he participated in the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament in 1982 with a Mississauga youth ice hockey club. From 1985 to 1989, he spent his fourth junior season playing with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
