The Apple Inc. is going head-to-head with a Google in the education, a market the iPhone maker is helping pioneer but has yet to languish.
For the first time in several years, Apple is releasing hardware which is specific to education that is a new iPad square up against the Google’s cheap Chromebook laptops, which have become more popular in the schools. The Marketing executive Susan Prescott is announcing a new app which is called Schoolwork for the iPads that helps teachers to assign work and monitor the student in progress.
The iPhone maker also unveiling a new service is known as Class Kit, which allows the developers to write apps that integrating with the Schoolwork service. It will let the teachers send students to specific parts of apps to conducting classwork or access the material. The new apps are available in June, says the Apple.
The company also says that the Apple student accounts through the schools which is get 200 gigabytes of iCloud storage for free, comparing to the usual 5 gigabytes. The Google’s G Suite for the Education service offers unlimited cloud storage, and a new Chromebooks that is comes with 100 gigabytes of free room for the two years.
With the cheaper iPad and a new education platform, Apple is banking on changing its foothold in the education, but the lower cost tablet also helps to buy iPad that sales more widely.
The iPad business is recently returning to growth after many declining quarters, that demand for tablets is weak. According to the research firm IDC, the market shrank by about 7 percent in the year 2017. Apple was growing 3 percent last year, and it leads the industry with about a quarter of the market.

The software announcements are not Apple’s first stab in the education market. Steve Jobs is making schools a priority for the Apple early in its life.
But as the company has driving toward mass-market and higher-margin products in the recent years. Google and Microsoft Corp. has a success breaking into the classrooms with inexpensive laptops and tablets. Last year, the global educational technology market was generating around $17.7 billion in the revenue, according to a research firm Frost & Sullivan.
